PepsiCo debuts a new and completely Hydro-Fluoro-Carbon free machine at the Super Bowl, did I mention it was also energy efficient? PepsiCo says, "We introduced the first vending machine using CO2 technology to the US market last year, and today we are introducing the first HC cooler to the US market." New discussion and possible outrage is arising over legislation over health bills that target snack vending machines. The legislation will require vending machine operators to include calorie and nutritional facts about their products being offered on their machines. How about something on the bleeding edge of vending machine technology? One article on ThomasNet News tells us of a wireless "machine to machine" device which is capable of relaying vending statistics back to the home base, from afar. Did you know the famously "rapture-esque" PC gaming title BioShock and BioShock 2 has vending machines? Instead of reality, this vending machine remains in the vast and excitingly fearful landscape of the game, and it's called the Gatherer's Garden vending machine, which can vend you some plasmaids for some in-game powerups.
